On Thursday, July 25, 2024, we drove the busy little road known as Washington State Route 544.
A state highway to be known as state route number 544 is established as follows:Beginning at a junction with state route number 539 in the vicinity of Wiser lake, thence northeasterly by way of Everson to a junction with state route number 9 in the vicinity of Nooksack.

Highway 544 begins at this roundabout near Wiser Lake, a junction with SR 539.

Highway 544 is a busy rural road. Everyone wants to go to the berry co-op. On a weekday afternoon, we never really got up to the speed limit for long. The highway doesn't have any junctions in the middle, so this a photo about halfway along.

Dump trucks enter the road. New houses being built in west Everson. The town has a busy little main street. SR 9 appears quickly. Going straight is southbound 9, at least for a block.
It was surprising how much traffic this narrow, bumpy road has. It seems like Everson and Nooksack have almost outgrown the highway.
